Peter Bielagus, 'Young America's Financial Coach,' to Speak Today
Peter Bielagus

Speaker, author, and licensed financial adviser Peter Bielagus, known as "The Go To Guy For Young People and Their Money," is coming to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Sept. 15 to present a series of financial presentations for the University Program Council.

His appearance will include a talk at 7:30 p.m. in the Nebraska Union Auditorium, 14th and R streets. This event is free for all UNL Students with valid NCard and $4 for faculty, staff and public. It is co-sponsored by the UNL Student Money Management Center. more...

Fiesta On The Green
Fiesta On The Green Is Today In Ballroom

UNL's annual Fiesta on the Green, a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. Due to the forecast of rain, the celebration will be held in the Nebraska Union Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public.

Organized by the Office of Academic Success and Intercultural Services, Fiesta on the Green will include a reading of the Hispanic Heritage Month proclamation by James Garza, associate professor of History and Ethnic Studies. Other presentations include Jarana (flamenco and Latin rhythms), Alicia Domingue (Latina Folklorico singer) and Sun del Llano (Cuban Son). The event will include food vendors Taqueria El Rey and Jerusalem Bakery, along with the store vendor Bodhi Imports.

 

General Studies Offers Study Strategy Session

General Studies is offering a study strategies session, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Sept. 15 in the Nebraska Union Auditorium. The presentation is geared open to all students, and faculty are asked to encourage students to attend.

The free session will feature Ken Kiewra's presentation, "How to SOAR to Success in College." The "SOAR" acronym stands for "Select, Organize, Associate and Regulate." Kiewra is a professor of educational psychology. more...

Wild Grass; I Am Love Play at the Ross

UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents Wild Grass and I Am Love. Both films will show through Sept. 23.
