Van Etten Continues Plant Pathology Series

James Van Etten will present "Unusual Lifestyle of Giant Algal Viruses" at 4 p.m., Jan. 31 in Keim Hall. This lecture will be given as part of the Department of Plant Pathology spring seminar series and is free and open to the public.

Van Etten is the William Allington Distinguished Professor of Plant Pathology in the Department of Plant Pathology at UNL. His current current research efforts focus on viruses of eukaryotic algae.

Passalacqua is Next Geske Lecturer

Veronica L. Passalacqua, curator of the C.N. Gorman Museum, Department of Native American Studies, University of California-Davis, will be the next Geske Lecturer in the annual history of the arts lecture series presented by the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts.

Her lecture, "Archival Encounters," will be presented 7 p.m. Jan. 31 in the Sheldon Museum of Art's Ethel S. Abbott Auditorium. The lecture is free and open to the public. A reception will immediately follow the lecture in the Great Hall. more...

Breakdance Club Meets Mondays, Thursdays

The UNL Breakdance Club is up and running. The group, formed to help promote Hip Hop on campus, is open to dancers of all levels - from beginner to expert. The club practices 9:30 to 11 p.m., Mondays and Thursdays in the Mabel Lee Hall dance studio.
