SVCAA Candidate Weissinger's Public Presentation is Today
Faculty, staff, students and the public are welcome to a public presentation and reception with Ellen Weissinger, candidate for Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. The presentation is 3:30 p.m., Feb. 2 in the Sheldon Museum of Art Auditorium. A reception follows until 5 p.m. in the Great Hall.
Weissinger, formerly UNL dean of Graduate Studies, was appointed interim vice chancellor Dec. 21, 2009, by Chancellor Harvey Perlman. more...

Alice Kang, assistant professor of political science and ethnic studies, will present "Islam and Women's Rights in a Global Context" at 5:30 p.m., Feb. 2 in the Nebraska Union auditorium. Part of the Nebraska Colloquium lecture series, the event is free and open to the public.
The Nebraska Colloquium is a series of lectures designed to engage the entire UNL community in thoughtful discussion of important issues. The theme for the 2010-2011 series is "Globalization's Promise."

"Work Makes the Work," an exhibition curated by assistant professor of digital arts Jeff Thompson, is on display at the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery through Feb. 18.
"Work Makes the Work" is an exhibition of artworks for which the act of making - the labor, process or enactment - is as important, if not more, than the aesthetic object created. Instead of being completely dematerialized, however, the works in this exhibition are conceptual constructs, as well as more traditional "stand-alone" artworks. more...
