Andrew Jewell

Andrew Jewell, associate professor of digital projects in the University Libraries and editor of the Willa Cather Archive, has co-edited a new book of essays, "The American Literature Scholar in the Digital Age." The essay book examines the influence of digital humanities on American Literature.

The book features a variety of essays written by scholar-practitioners in the fields of digital humanities and American literary studies. The authors of the essays draw from their experiences of developing new digital resources to comment on how the transformation to new technologies may alter the way one thinks about the scholarship of American literature. more...

New Videos Offer Info on Academic Issues

The Division of General Studies has created a series of short, narrated videos about academic issues, including grade basics, calculating grade point averages, repeating courses, non-graded elements on transcripts, and probation and dismissal.

The videos are geared toward students, but may be useful to faculty and staff. They are available for viewing on the Division of General Studies website.

Seminar to examine conflicts in Missouri River basin

The UNL Water Center's spring lecture seminar series continues with a March 2 presentation by John Davidson, emeritus professor of law at the University of South Dakota. The lecture, "Recent Developments in the Missouri River Basin: Conflict, Cooperation and Paradox," is 3:30 p.m. in the Hardin Hall auditorium.

The lecture is free and open to the public.

Vivian to Read From 'Another Burning Kingdom'

Robert Vivian

Robert Vivian will read and discuss the last book in this Tall Grass Triology, "Another Burning Kingdom" at 7 p.m., March 2 at the University Bookstore. Vivian received his doctorate in creative writing at UNL and is the author of "Cold Snap as Yearning," published in 2001 by the University of Nebraska Press.

Vivian is a professor of English and creative writing at Alma College in Michigan. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and his doctoral degree in creative writing at UNL.
