April Verch LIED CENTER FOR PERFORMING ARTS, 7:30PM
Fiddle Champion April Verch to Perform at Lied Center

Fiddle champion and step dancer April Verch will perform at 7:30 p.m., March 30 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. Her music is an irresistible blend of Celtic, jazz, folk and bluegrass music.

This performance is free for UNL students as part of the Arts For All Program. Regular ticket prices are $18 and can be purchased by calling the Lied 472-4747 or going to the Lied Center website.

Microgravity University Team
Engineering Students Experimenting With NASA in Microgravity

A team of engineering students will travel to Houston's Johnson Space Center to conduct research for NASA that will have them floating on-board reduced gravity missions, March 31 through April 9.

The team was chosen in December to participate in NASA's 2011 Microgravity University. According to NASA, the program engages selected college and university teams in scientific research that helps the U.S. space program to refine its efforts. Projects are prepared by students with mentoring from NASA and industry representatives, and then conducted during Flight Week aboard a series of parabolic reduced-gravity flights in specially-equipped NASA aircraft that reach 35,000 feet above Earth. more...

Gulliver Continues Water Seminar Series Today

John Gulliver

John Gulliver will present the William Memorial Lecture from 3:30-4:30 p.m., March 30 in the Hardin Hall Auditorium. Gulliver's lecture, "Innovations in Stormwater Treatment," is free and open to the public.

Gulliver is a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Minnesota. His specific research projects include the measurement and prediction of air-water mass transfer at hydraulic structures, developing new assessment techniques for water quality performance of stormwater treatment practices and establishing the relationship between free-surface turbulence and gas transfer.
