UNL Marketplace mobile launches

UNL Marketplace, a unified online shopping mall for UNL storefronts, recently launched the mobile version of the website. With access to all 7 stores, it offers a simplified interface, quick store browsing, and is touch optimized. To shop the site, visit UNL Marketplace on your mobile device.

Great Plains Art Museum readies for first juried exhibition

The Great Plains Art Museum has announced a call for artists for a juried exhibition focusing on Native American culture in the Great Plains region.

The museum is home to a large collection of historical and contemporary works by Native North American artists. It regularly hosts exhibitions that focus on contemporary native identity as well as historical native issues. This is the first juried exhibition hosted by the museum, and is an effort to enhance knowledge and appreciation about Native American contemporary arts in the Great Plains today. Combined Campaign

UNL pledges $414,568 for Combined Campaign

UNL employees made a big impact, pledging $414,568 to the Lincoln-area Combined Campaign for Health and Human Services. The total surpassed the university's goal of $403,000. A total of 1,821 faculty and staff gave to the campaign, an increase of 20.6 percent over the 1,510 donors in 2010.

"Thanks to all who turned in pledge cards and helped toward reaching our Combined Campaign for Health and Human Services goals," said Darin Erstad, campaign co-chair and head coach of Husker baseball. Grand Canyon

Outdoor Adventures include trips include California surfing, Grand Canyon backpacking

Registration is now open for the 12 adventure trips being offered in spring and summer 2012 with UNL Outdoor Adventures. One-, two-, four-, seven-, or nine-day trips with skis, surfboards, backpacks, canoes, and bikes are being offered. No previous outdoor experience is required. Open to UNL students, faculty, staff and the public.

Early registration is encouraged because trips have limited enrollment. Payment plans are available for select trips. Read more about these trips in Today@UNL.

 

Younger Next Year

EAP offers 'Younger Next Year' sessions

The Employee Assistance Program is offering a 16-week course designed to help individuals set personal weekly wellness goals and track progress.

The program, offered Jan. 17 to May 15, will utilize the "Younger Next Year" book by Chris Crowley and Henry Lodge. Topics covered include exercise, healthy eating, stress management, relationships, sleep and overall quality of life. Read more about this program in Today@UNL.
