Second master plan open house is today
The second of two open house sessions to allow faculty, staff and students to offer input into an update of UNL's master physical plan and a new landscape master plan is noon to 2 p.m. today in the Nebraska East Union.
The session is open to the public. Jennifer Dam, assistant director of campus planning and space management, said the open houses are the first opportunity for the entire campus community to provide input into the master plans. Read more about the Campus Master Plan in Today@UNL.
Shavers named to human trafficking task force

Anna Shavers, professor of law, has been appointed by Gov. Dave Heinemann to serve on Nebraska's task force on human trafficking. She will serve as co-chair of the research subcommittee.
The task force was established within the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice. It is tasked with investigating and studying human trafficking, the methods for advertising human trafficking services, and the victimization of individuals coerced to participate in human trafficking.

"India's Forsaken" premieres at the Ross
The work of 11 photojournalism students will be featured in a multimedia presentation, "India's Forsaken," 7 p.m. at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center.
The presentation is free and open to the public and will include a slide show and video presentation made by the students. The images and stories were collected during a depth-reporting trip to India in May. Read more about this presentation in Today@UNL.

First Tech Crawl to showcase Lincoln startups
Are you curious about starting your own company? Thinking about working in the tech industry? Don't miss Lincoln's inaugural Tech Crawl. More than 40 tech-related businesses will be opening their doors for UNL students, alumni, faculty and staff along with curious community members interested in an insider's perspective on how they operate.
The event will take place from 4 - 7 p.m. All participating businesses will be conveniently located in the Haymarket and downtown area. Companies with virtual offices or distant locations will occupy booths on the third floor of the Mill building at the corner of Eighth and P streets. Sheldon seeks student docents
The Sheldon Museum of Art is seeking volunteers to become student docents. Student docents do not need to be artists or art historians. Each is trained by Sheldon staff to lead tours for other students and student groups. The next training session is Sept. 14 and will include information on the museum's landmark building and special exhibitions; conversations with curators and staff; and practice giving tours. New 'UNLchat' feature available free for UNL websites

Website managers can add UNLchat, a new chat tool, to any web pages in the UNL template to allow visitors to ask questions of university operators online.
UNLchat has been in use on the main UNL website since early August and is accessible through a small green tab that appears at the bottom left corner of the screen. More information is available on the UNLchat website.

UNL launches Nebraska App
UNL has launched the Nebraska App, a suite of mobile applications that makes essential university resources available on mobile devices. Students can check grades, access course content and browse the course catalog. They can access the public directory and get in touch instantly, keep tabs on Husker sports, find places on the campus map, stay informed with the latest campus news, watch videos, and even listen to podcasts of popular lectures in iTunesU.
