Incredible, Edible Car Competition is today
UNL's East Campus engineering programs will host the annual Incredible, Edible Car Competition starting at 2 p.m. in the East Union. The event caps off E-Day, an open house for prospective students in agricultural and biological systems engineering, gathering senior project displays and potential employers to meet with students.
The cars compete in distance and durability as they roll down ramps. The constraints are the components, which must be edible, and their cost, which must be less than $10 per team. More than 20 teams will participate this year, with three or four students each. Teams have had several weeks to design, shop, build prototypes, test and tweak. After the competition, while the judges tally the scores, the teams must eat their creations. Read more about this competition in Today@UNL.

A special Stress Free Zone will be offered to help faculty, staff and students relax and unwind before finals week begins. The Stress Free Zone — which includes free snacks, giveaways, massages, pet therapy and other fun activities — is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Dec. 4 in the East Union and Dec. 5-6 in the Nebraska Union.
The Dec. 5 event will also include a photo booth. The Stress Free Zone is organized by University Health Center, Campus Rec and Lincoln Pet Partners..
Nominations sought for service to students, advising awards
Nominees are being sought for the James V. Griesen Exemplary Service to Students Award and the University of Nebraska/Builders Award for Outstanding Academic Advising. The deadline for nominations is Jan. 13. Recipients will be honored at Honors Convocation on April 22.

"Please make a special effort to share this information with others and encourage your colleagues to submit nominations." Read more about these awards in Today@UNL.

UNL.edu now formatted for all devices

The Internet and Interactive Media group of University Communications and Information Services has concluded the first phase in its effort to provide full support to all devices - desktops, laptops, smartphones and tablets - by implementing a suite of web technologies collectively known as 'responsive design.' This week, the internal and external homepages were re-launched as 'responsive' designs.
You can see the effects of responsive design in your desktop browser by simply re-sizing your browser window (the page will reformat as the window is narrowed), or by viewing on your tablet or smartphone. Please use the 'feedback' links at the bottom of the page if you would like to let us know of any issues. Thank you.
