Well Connected Communities logo.jpg

Well Connected Communities is a new program that provides teens the opportunity to become Master Health Volunteers through conversations and information focusing on health, particularly social determinants of health, healthy food access, and basic nutrition. This program delivery offers youth a chance to share their voice and determine a plan for volunteering and connecting. Teens will also learn about their strengths and talents and how to use them to impact your community.

Master Health Volunteer Training:
· Receive 40 hours of training related to health in your community.
· Give back 40 hours of volunteer time on community health-related activities.
· Receive a certification of a “Master Health Volunteer.”

While it is a volunteer program, teens who complete the 40 hour training will receive a stipend in the form of a VISA gift card. If they complete 40 hours of volunteering through the program they determine that focuses on health-related activities, they will receive a second stipend in the form of a VISA gift card.

Training will be held Thursdays via Zoom from 6:30-8:30 pm, Sept. 10–Nov. 19. Zoom meetings will be interactive and breaks will be included!

Teens must be at least a freshman in high school; please share with other teens who might be interested. Please contact Tracy at tracy.anderson@unl.edu for more information by Wednesday, Sept. 9.
