The evening of February 26, the OASIS Student Lounge became more than just a moment for discussion—it became a moment of self-discovery and empowerment. Together with the UNL Center for Advocacy, Response & Education, OASIS welcomed Cheyenne Tyler Jacobs for a special Late-Night Dish It Up session, "The Internal Protagonist: A Journey to Confident Leadership."
Through poetry and real-world stories, Jacobs guided the audience through the struggles of leadership—the weight of imposter syndrome, the fear of failure, and the challenge of defining success on one’s own terms. She spoke not just as a leader, but as someone who had walked the path of self-doubt and self-acceptance, sharing her triumphs and setbacks with refreshing honesty.

Her message resonated deeply. As students listened, they saw reflections of their own journeys—the moments of uncertainty, the pressure to prove themselves, and the quiet victories that often go unnoticed. Jacobs’ powerful storytelling made one truth clear: leadership isn’t about being perfect; it’s about owning your story, embracing vulnerability, and moving forward with purpose.

By the end of the night, the room wasn’t just filled with people—it was filled with inspiration, empathy, and a renewed sense of confidence. As students left, the conversation didn’t stop; it carried on in quiet reflections and determined steps forward. Because in that moment, they weren’t just listening to a story—they were learning to write their own.
