The Juan N. Franco Legacy Scholarship, formerly known as the Hope for the Future Scholarship, is now accepting applications. Established in 2016, this scholarship was created by students who believed in the transformative power of higher education. With the support of Dr. Juan Franco, whom we honor through this legacy, the Define American Chapter at UNL helped bring this scholarship to life.

This scholarship provides financial assistance to students at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln who are ineligible for financial aid due to their immigration status. Both incoming and current students are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility Requirements:
-Not qualified for financial aid
-High school GPA of 2.5 or higher
-College GPA of 2.5 or higher
-Must be enrolled or plan to enroll at UNL

Applicants must submit an online form, an unofficial transcript, a letter of recommendation, and a short essay detailing their educational goals and how this scholarship would support their journey.
