On April 15, OASIS hosted a special late-night edition of Dish It Up, dedicated to celebrating APIDA Month in collaboration with Delta Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. The event was filled with energy, insightful conversation, and meaningful discussions as a room full of students gathered to explore the Model Minority Myth, stereotypes, and the complexities of Asian identity.
The conversation delved deep into how these myths shape perceptions and contribute to harmful stereotypes. Participants engaged in an open and candid dialogue, unpacking these ideas in a safe, welcoming space.
The evening was enhanced with interactive quizzes, scenario-based activities, and group discussions, which sparked both laughter and learning. These activities not only helped participants better understand the issues but also fostered a sense of community and collaboration.
