Don’t Forget about the Fulbright!

Normally the spring semester is a time to promote the Fulbright US Student Program, the premiere opportunity in the US to support new or recent graduates to conduct research, obtain a Master’s degree, or to teach English Abroad. (Attached is a flyer with some details about the program.) This spring has been a little challenging in getting the word out about this amazing educational exchange program.
As hard as it might be to think about sending students abroad at this point, the timing is right for students to look to their futures. They must apply quite early in the Fall semester of 2020 for the 2021-22 academic year. The campus deadline for the Fulbright this fall is September 4, 2020.
UNL needs your help in recruiting potential candidates for the program. Think about current rising seniors, recent graduates, or current graduate students who you know. Are they strong in languages? Have they ‘internationalized’ their education while at UNL through study abroad or engaging with our international community on campus or in Lincoln? Please encourage them to contact me directly! As the National and International Fellowships Director, I am here to help them put together a great application!
Students can reach me at Ldamuth1@unl.edu or set up a meeting with me in MyPLAN. I am available for zoom meetings and this summer is a great time for students to work on their applications as they look toward the future!
