GLST 101

All UNL students no matter their major are invited to take GLST/HRHA 101: Human Rights in a Global Perspective. The course meets MWF 3:30-4:20PM and will help students develop an understanding and appreciation of human rights as a theoretical concept and legal argument. Throughout the semester students will take inter- and transdisciplinary approaches to human rights including social, cultural, economic, civil, and political rights. In addition, students will learn to articulate knowledge about issues at the core of the human rights studies including the relationship between human rights and state sovereignty, the spread of human rights norms around the globe and the development of the very idea of human right.
