The Chiara String Quartet continue their Hixson-Lied Concert Series with a performance on Nov. 29 titled "Hall and Notes." They will be joined by Assistant Professor of Percussion Dave Hall.
The concert is at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall. Tickets are $20 adults, $10 seniors and $5 students. Tickets for any three concerts in the series are available for $50 adults, $25 seniors and $10 students. Advance tickets are available from the Lied Center Box Office at (402) 472-4747.
The Chiara String Quartet is joined by Hall for a program of dynamic music for quartet and percussion, alongside the Mendelssohn String Quartet in D Major, Op. 44, No. 1.

The Chiara Quartet recently released their CD, “Bartók by Heart” on Azica Records. It features Bartók’s six string quartets, played entirely from memory. The CD was recently positively reviewed by The Washington Post (http://go.unl.edu/y27t),
The Chiara recently performed complete cycles of the Bartók String Quartets by memory at the Ravinia Festival, National Sawdust in Brooklyn, and at NET Nebraska.
Hall regularly performs as a solo marimbist, drummer, orchestral percussionist and steel pan artist as a result of his diverse skills as a percussionist and omnivorous musical approach. He has played snare drum for the Phantom Regiment and Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps, the TCU PASIC Champion Indoor Drumline and the Dallas Mavericks Drumline. He was recently elected to the Percussive Arts Society Percussion Ensemble Committee.
