• Continuing through Aug. 3: Nebraska Alumni Artists 1983-1988 exhibition. Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall. Admission is free and open to the public. Visitors can stop by Rm. 120 of Richards Hall Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for access to the gallery. A closing reception will be held on First Friday, Aug. 3 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery.
• Aug. 9: Nebraska Repertory Theatre individual tickets go on sale. The Rep's 50th year season, #HistoryMakers, includes "An Act of God," "Mother Courage and Her Children," "The Holiday Cabaret," "Dutchman" and "Hair." Visit http://nebraskarep.org for more details.
• Aug. 17: Hixson-Lied Welcome Back Picnic. Noon-2 p.m. Green space south of Woods Art Building. Students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the Hixson-Lied College are invited to our Welcome Back Picnic. There will be food and beverages provided, along with entertainment. • Aug. 17: Cornhusker Marching Band Exhibition. 7 p.m. Memorial Stadium. Free and open to the public. The Cornhusker Marching Band’s annual exhibition performance includes highlights of what the Cornhusker Marching Band has been working on during their pre-season Band Camp, including the famous "drill down," a preview of the first halftime show and hear many more Husker favorites. Enter Memorial Stadium through Gate 3 (SW entrance) and Gate 11 (NW entrance). Gates open at 6 p.m.
• Aug. 18: Big Red Singers Exhibition. 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Free and open to the public. Directed by Nick McGraw, Nebraska’s Big Red Singers is an ensemble featuring some of the university’s finest musicians, working together in the development of entertaining, high-energy, full-choreographed shows.
