The Glenn Korff School of Music’s Matthew Carter, student of Coordinator of Musical Theatre Studies Alisa Belflower, won second place in the lower college (freshmen and sophomore) men’s musical theatre category in NATS National Student Auditions in Las Vegas in June.
Logan Langholdt, also a student of Belflower, was chosen from senior men to perform in a masterclass by Broadway veteran Alton Fitzgerald White—famous for his more than 4,000 performances as “Mufasa” in "The Lion King."
The Glenn Korff School of Music had five students travel to Las Vegas and perform in the national semifinals in Las Vegas: Alison Gillespie (student of Kate Butler); Skyler Dykes, Dakota Mathew, Langholdt and Carter, who are all students of Belflower. Belflower had more national semifinalists in this competition than any voice professor in the nation.
National Semifinalists represent the top 14 singers in the nation in their age/training level category.
