The Nebraska Unmanned Aircraft Innovation, Research and Education (NU-AIRE) laboratory is excited to introduce the current team of individuals that have earned their Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Wings, or are close to achieving this milestone. From left: Sandeep Bhatti (Junior Pilot), Jasreman Singh (Student Pilot), Mitch Maguire (Senior Research Pilot), Jenny Wynn (Research Pilot), Jacob "Buddy" Smith (Master Research Pilot), Qiao Hu (Research Pilot), Breanna Smith (Research Pilot), and Wayne Woldt (Master Research Pilot). Not pictured is Galen Kreifels (Research Pilot). Mitch, Sandeep, Jasreman, and Qiao are graduate research assistants working on multiple agriculture and natural resources research projects. Galen, Jenny, and Breanna are undergraduate students contributing a bit of grit, to help the lab "fly" into the future. Buddy is Director of Flight Operations, and Wayne is Lab Director. In terms of glory, the NU-AIRE lab is pleased to report involvement in five papers and/or presentations that were delivered at the 2018 American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) Annual International Meeting held in Detroit, MI. The NU-AIRE Lab is extremely grateful to all of the faculty, too numerous to mention, that are collaborating on research and education, and exploring these innovative technologies. If you are interested in unmanned aircraft, or want to explore the use of unmanned aircraft in your research or education, feel free to contact Wayne Woldt (wwoldt1@unl.edu).
