Over the summer, Joe Luck, Jenny Keshwani, and Erin Ingram led an exhibit at Morrill Hall titled “Communicating with Corn.” Nearly 70 people were in attendance over the two hours of the session. Faculty Humesh Nemala and Deepak Keshwani and graduate student Nathan Rice also provided assistance.

The team set up four different booths for children and parents to walk through, with informational activities and suggestions for take home science projects. Joe visited with the students to teach them how his project uses sensors to learn how much nitrogen corn needs.

The session presented research by BSE and Project SENSE: Sensors for Efficient Nitrogen use and Stewardship of the Environment.
