Responsible for processing all personnel-related activities; employment searches, new hire paperwork and documentation, PAFs, PARs, and payroll/ESS Time entry oversight.
Work closely with hiring managers/Project Directors to facilitate the hiring and classification processes and serve as the point of contact for departmental human resource requests and questions.
Provide advice, counsel, and/or interpretation regarding UNL personnel policies and procedures, Family Medical Leave (FML) issues, and State/Federal employment regulations for faculty and staff, to include e-verify.
Provide general administrative and organizational support for CCFL and the Director. Provide some administrative support and coordination to a number of different projects, as well as executing daily operational functions for the Center as a whole, including maintaining all personnel files and performing all tasks related to human resource and personnel management.
Also responsible for cash handling/deposits and P-card reconciliation, and maintaining parking and building card and key assignments.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree plus one year of experience in personnel, payroll, and/or human resources; equivalent education/experience considered. Working knowledge of accounting, budgeting, personnel or payroll practices. Experience with PC-based word processing and spreadsheet software programs. Experience must demonstrate attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with large integrated financial management system (i.e. SAP) and database software programs. Experience in an academic setting.
