Governor Pete Ricketts recently proclaimed March as National Nutrition Month.
"Whereas, food is the substance by which life is sustained; and whereas, the type, quality, and amount of food that Nebraskans consume each day plays an important role in their overall health and physicla fitness; and whereas, there is a need for continuing nutrition education and a wide-scale effort across our great state to enhance healthy eating practices."
"Now, therefore, I, Pete Ricketts, Governor of the State of Nebraska, do hereby proclaim the month of March, 2019 as National Nutrition Month in Nebraska, and I encourage all citizens to join the campaign and become concerned about their nutrition in the hope of achieving optimum health for both today and tomorrow."
Jean Ann Fischer, Nebraska Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics President-Elect, represented Nebraska Registered Dietitians at the Capitol when Governor Pete Ricketts proclaimed March as National Nutrition Month in Nebraska.
