ACHIEVEMENTS: Honors for faculty, students and alumni

Jay Puckett, director of The Durham School of Architectural Engineering & Construction, has been awarded the Wyoming Eminent Engineer for 2018 on behalf of the engineering honor society Tau Beta Pi.

This award is presented annually and honors someone who has provided significant service to the College of Engineering or the State of Wyoming in the field of engineering. A student panel of 8-10 Tau Beta Pi members selects the recipient.

K.P. Rajurkar, professor of mechanical and materials engineering, will receive the 2018 M. Eugene Merchant Manufacturing Medal of ASME/SME at the group's Honors Assembly this November in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Four College of Engineering alumni - John Evans, Caleb Lindhorst, Nancy Melby and Lee Redden - and sophomore software engineering major Brooke Lampe were among the honorees at the Nebraska Alumni Association’s annual Alumni Honors Night, May 3 at Nebraska Innovation Campus.

Don Johnson, professor emeritus of mechanical and materials engineering, received a research award from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Emeriti and Retirees Association for his work on the preservation of the sunken USS Arizona.
