College of Engineering faculty John Woollam and Benjamin Terry were among the University of Nebraska-Lincoln faculty recognized at the Nov. 6 NUtech Ventures Innovator Celebration. Woollam, George Holmes Distinguished University Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, received the Prem S. Paul Innovator of the Year Award. Terry, associate professor of mechanical and materials engineering, received the Breakthrough Innovation of the Year Award. Leen-Kiat Soh, professor of computer science and engineering, was part of a team that earned an honorable mention in the 2018 National Center for Women and Information Technology Engagement Excellence Awards. The team, which also includes researchers from other University of Nebraska-Lincoln colleges, received the award for research that focuses on improving learning and performance in computing instruction by deploying the exercises it has developed in a more comprehensive study of integrating computational thinking and creative thinking.
