College of Engineering faculty and staff,

We are now well into November, the month where many of us observe the Thanksgiving holiday by gathering with friends and family and acknowledging the many gifts we have received. It’s also the month for the annual Combined Campaign where we have the opportunity to share our gifts with others who are less fortunate.

This year, Chancellor Ronnie Green is encouraging each of us to participate in the campaign which runs through Nov. 30. In fact, there is a competition going among the colleges and administrative units to encourage more employees to participate in the campaign.  There are even “valuable prizes” we can win, and perhaps even win the grand prize trophy for our college!

Dean Perez has tasked me with the responsibility of coordinating our college’s effort in the campaign, and I know we want to make him proud of our college!

Currently, the College of Engineering has a 2.2% participation rate, with the overall participation rate university-wide at 7.5%. So you see, we’re running a little behind the curve. I know we can kick it up several notches!

The website is listed below.  You’ll need to enter your NU ID and the password is gobigred, then you’ll be prompted to change your password.

Please consider this: a $25 donation gives 20 students access to the ACT prep course, a $30 donation provides five days’ worth of meals to seniors through the Meals on Wheels program at Tabitha. You can see that literally every dollar counts to making someone else’s day a little brighter, not to mention that it will make you feel good!

If you have questions, I’d be happy to help!  Thank you for your consideration of this very worthy endeavor!
