Order of Engineer sign-up, ring sizing set for Nov. 5

Graduating seniors are invited to join The Order of the Engineer on Wednesday, Nov. 5, for sign-up and ring sizing from 1-4 p.m. in the Othmer Hall lobby. An initiation ceremony is slated for Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 4:30 p.m. in Othmer 105.

The Order of the Engineer is an association of engineers dedicated to the teaching, administration, or practice of their profession. To be initiated, you adhere to a professional creed and accept a stainless steel ring to be worn on the working hand. The obligation is voluntary and for life.

Construction management students are not eligible to join.

A one-time initiation fee for the Order of the Engineer is $20. Some proceeds support the Mathcounts program, which encourages sixth- through eighth-grade students to pursues math studies and careers in engineering.
