** Wednesday, April 3: Creating individual development plan (IDP) workshop, 3-5 p.m., Burnett Hall 107

The best way to make sure you achieve your career goals is to have a plan. An individual Development Plan helps you outline your goals and objectives and identify the best ways to develop skills to meet those goals. This workshop with focus on what an IDP looks like, programs from helping you develop them, and how to have conversations with faculty and advisors about your IDP

** Thursday, April 4, Electrical and Computer Engineering Graduate Student Association Seminar Series: Networking and Professional Communication, 5-6 p.m., SEC 237, PKI 250, and Chase Hall 254

Robbie Hall, a PhD graduate student from the Communications Studies Department, will be discussing methodologies for professional networking and workplace communication. The seminar will cover topics such as conference presenting, professional networking, and efficient means of communication in the workplace and for job interviewing. Participants will practice their newly learned networking skills on each other. Free food and drinks.

Negotiation is an important skill in navigating your future career. This workshop will provide information on effective techniques and will examine how your own strengths can be incorporated into a negotiation strategy that works for you.
