Are you passionate about helping people and see a future career as a health professional? Or maybe you’re interested in studying nutrition, exercise, and healthy living and see a future in the fitness industry? The College of Education and Human Sciences (CEHS) offers several options within the Nutrition and Health Sciences Department including Community Health and Wellness, Nutrition, Exercise and Health Science, and Nutrition Science. Students in these programs study nutrition and the role it has in connection with the human body. Graduates of these programs are well prepared for a variety of health careers, and we’ve had students gain successful admissions into several professional health programs including Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Medical School, and Occupational Therapy, among others. With several necessary prerequisites for health programs built directly into the major requirements, these programs are an excellent choice for many pre-health students. However, if you’re more interested in health and fitness careers, we have many students who enter the workforce in a variety of areas immediately after graduation including strength and conditioning, personal training, corporate wellness, cardiac rehabilitation, elderly care, and more. To hear more about our programs from current and former students, visit the Nutrition and Health Sciences home page https://cehs.unl.edu/nhs/.

Our Nutrition programs will also offer you the chance to travel the globe. Faculty members plan and lead study abroad opportunities for students to countries around the world including Greece, Japan, Zambia, and Ethiopia! To learn more about programs abroad, visit https://cehs.unl.edu/global/.

Students interested in meeting with a CEHS advisor to learn more about any of our Nutrition and Health Science programs can schedule a meeting with a CEHS advisor by dropping into 105 Henzlik Hall or calling 402-472-8624.
