Through a partnership with AmeriCorps, Nebraska Extension will be adding four AmeriCorps VISTA members to the disaster education team.
AmeriCorps, a federal agency, brings people together to tackle the country’s most pressing challenges, through national service and volunteering. AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers serve with organizations dedicated to the improvement of communities. AmeriCorps helps make service to others a cornerstone of our national culture.
Nebraska Extension was recently selected as an AmeriCorps partner in the areas of capacity building and disaster services. We are looking for talented people who are passionate about serving others, transforming lives through education, and creating memorable learning experiences. Our VISTA positions will integrate into Nebraska Extension issue teams and interest groups, and they will lead disaster education projects with measurable outcomes.
We are recruiting for the following positions:
- Disaster Education Youth Development VISTA
- Disaster Education Weather Ready Agriculture VISTA
- Disaster Education Food Systems and Access VISTA
- Disaster Education Community Engagement and Wellness VISTA
These positions will be located in Lincoln. For their service, VISTA members will receive a modest biweekly living allowance, health benefit, an end-of-service award, and post-service federal employment incentives/priority.
