Congratulations to Zones 1, 4, 8, and 10 for completing their Emergency Action Plans. Every office/unit in these zones submitted a plan - 100%! All of the EAPs were reviewed and approved for 2021!
Nebraska Extension and UNL’s Office of Emergency Preparedness and Planning encourages county Extension offices and Extension units to have plans in place for disasters and emergencies. Emergency action plans (EAP) outline the procedures and information staff can use in the event of an emergency. This includes office location, contact information, sheltering-in place, evacuation procedures and more. As a reminder, this year’s EAP submission process is by zones and units:
Here is the current submission window:
• May 1 – June 30: Zones 5, 7, 9, 11, and Raising Nebraska
Upcoming submission window:
• September 1 – October 31: Zones 2, 3, and 6
When the submission window is open for your zone, we will be reaching out to lead educators/unit leaders with information on submitting your office/unit EAP. The EAP template and submission link has not changed from 2020.
Remember, EAPs are living documents. While we only ask offices/units to submit them on an annual basis for our organizational records, EAPs should be updated continually as the need arises (i.e. someone retires/resigns, someone new joins the office, change of office location, etc.).
If you have any questions, please let us know. We look forward to working with you as you develop your office/unit 2021 EAP.
