Hoff receives grant from Merops Foundation for excavation work in Turkey
School of Art, Art History & Design Professor of Art History Michael Hoff received a $52,800 grant from The Merops Foundation to support the Antiochia ad Cragum archaeological research excavation in Turkey this summer. It was his third recent grant from the foundation, which also awarded him $30,000 in 2017 and $42,000 last year.

Jha delivers keynote at seminar in India
Nebraska’s Dipra Jha recently traveled to India to deliver a keynote at an international seminar on food, hospitality and tourism. Organized by the Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management at Maharshi Dayanand University in Rohtak, Haryana, the one-day event on March 12th was attended by scholars, industry leaders and students from institutions across India.

Steven Barlow awarded international Callier Prize
Steven Barlow, the Corwin Moore Professor in the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, was selected as the recipient of the biennial Callier Prize in Communication Disorders. Barlow, who is also the Associate Director of the Center for Brain, Biology and Behavior (CB3), will be honored at the Callier Cares Luncheon April 15.

Dawes' poetry earns Windham-Campbell Prize
Kwame Dawes is the first University of Nebraska–Lincoln writer to win the annual Windham-Campbell Prize. Announced live from London on March 13, the award is one of the world’s most lucrative literary honors, worth $165,000 to each winner. Judged anonymously, the prizes recognize exceptional English language writers in the areas of poetry, fiction, nonfiction and drama.
