High quality health care from Nebraska Medicine providers is available on campus. Here’s what you need to know about accessing medical care at the University Health Center:
Location and Hours
The University Health Center is located at 550 N 19th Street. During the academic year, the health center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Hours may vary by service.
There are many ways to get to the health center:
- Walk — The health center is within walking distance of most locations on campus
- Bike — A bike rack is located by the west entrance. A BikeLNK dock is also located on N 19th St across from our west entrance
- Bus — The UNL / StarTran bus route #25 has a stop immediately south of the building
- Drive — Free parking is available in our patient parking lot. Please use the stalls directly against the building that are marked with a "Patient Parking Only" sign
If you are enrolled in the university’s student insurance plan through UnitedHealthcare StudentResources (UHCSR), you can save money by using your plan at the University Health Center. Deductible, coinsurance and copays are waived when you use the health center. You can also use your benefits at our pharmacy and dental clinic. The UHCSR student insurance plan covers 100% of the cost of most medically necessary services at the University Health Center. This includes:
- University pre-enrollment health requirement immunizations and tests
- Medical procedures and annual exams
- Visits with medical specialists (referrals are not needed)*
- Annual optometry exam and refraction (glasses and contacts are not covered)
- Laboratory tests and X-rays
Appointments are required for telehealth and in-person care. Call 402.472.5000 to schedule. Once you are an established patient, you can schedule certain follow-up appointments with your provider on the One Chart | Patient Portal.
You will need to wear a mask when you arrive for check-in. If you forget to bring a mask, one can be provided to you at the check-in desk. Make sure to also bring a government ID (like your driver’s license or passport) and your insurance card when you check-in.
