To help campus leaders better understand the specific issues facing BIPOC women academics, the Institute for Ethnic Studies will host a series of four discussions of Dr. Lorgia García Peña's Community as Rebellion: A Syllabus for Surviving Academia as a Woman of Color (Haymarket, 2022).

BIPOC women graduate students planning a career in academia are very welcome to attend, and the Institute would be happy to provide a copy of the book if you're interested. For further details, see the letter from Joy Castro, Institute Director.
