How can your university art museum be a resource in your teaching and research, and what is the pedagogical value of object-centered learning? Hosted by Sheldon Museum of Art, this workshop will outline specific approaches for productively integrating artwork in the classroom and provide information on how Sheldon can support this practice.

The workshop includes short presentations by Olufunke Ogundimu, Ph.D. student in Creative Writing, Department of English, and Hector Palala Martinez, Ph.D. student in Curriculum Studies and New Technologies, Department of Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education, about their experiences of incorporating the museum and art into their teaching and research. These presentations are followed by time in the galleries, during which workshop participants will engage in guided close looking activities and have time to ask questions, share experiences, and brainstorm lesson plans and learning objectives.

This workshop is open to all graduate students across disciplines. Light refreshments will be provided. Register here for this workshop on using art in your teaching and research.
