Social Media and Content Marketing Intern - Gretchen Swanson Center for Nutrition (Omaha, NE)

The social media and content marketing intern supports the marketing strategy through the development of content across multiple channels. This position will have the opportunity to work on a number of exciting projects including writing content for the Gretchen Swanson Center for Nutrition and the Nutrition Incentive Hub, assisting with video development and promotion of our Food Bank Grant Program, supporting material development and planning for conferences, and the opportunity to enhance skills and learn new software.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
> Build and execute social media strategy through research, messaging and audience identification
> Generate, edit, publish and share daily social media content that builds meaningful connections and engagement
> Research, monitor and report on current trends, topics, issues and influencers, and incorporate into strategy
> Create editorial calendars
> Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
> Develop and review newsletter content, and promote across channels
> Project management including setting timelines, meeting deadlines and acquiring approvals

Secondary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
> Support execution of the marketing strategy
> Support development of marketing collateral
> Support website updates, increasing traffic and analyzing data
> Support projects by attending meetings, reviewing documents and creating branded deliverables
> Support research, data entry and marketing automation in Salesforce CRM

Preferred Qualifications:
> College student or recent college graduate in marketing, communications, advertising, public relations, journalism or other related field
> Strong storytelling, copywriting and proofreading skills, including writing for multiple channels and audiences
> Willingness to learn how to adapt scientific content to the lay audience
> Social media savvy - familiarity with Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn as it relates to B2B marketing
> Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and/or Illustrator) knowledge, a plus
> Familiarity with Hootsuite, Squarespace, MailChimp, Google Analytics, AdWords, or Salesforce, a plus
> Detail-oriented and able to see the big picture, deadline-oriented and problem-solver

Wage: hourly, commensurate with experience.

Job Type: this is a part-time position (25 hours/week with potential for more). Preferably located in Omaha, NE, but remote position will be considered. Hiring immediately.
