The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel features department is seeking an
intern to work as an online entertainment producer. In this role, the
intern will work closely with the Interactive Entertainment Producer
and the features department team in the daily production and
development of Tap Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s
entertainment website. Job responsibilities may include: posting
stories online and creating complementary content; creating photo and
multimedia packages; recording and editing audio and video packages;
building and maintaining special sections; managing social media
accounts; working with reporters and editors on enhancing stories for
the Web; promoting reader participation, and more.
The ideal candidate must have a passion for entertainment news, pop
culture and interactive media. This person should have a thorough
understanding of good journalism and how to produce it online. Strong
organizational, communication and collaborative abilities are
important. The candidate should also possess knowledge of and comfort
with computers and web tools and programs, including content
management systems, social media, Photoshop, HTML, video and audio
editing tools. The internship is 12 weeks.
