Intern Position Description: Community Health Endowment of Lincoln

The Community Health Endowment of Lincoln seeks an energetic, social media savvy intern with interest in healthy living and nonprofit work.

General Responsibilities:
With supervision, help develop and implement marketing and promotion for a community-wide initiative around movement and activity. Specific assignments may include, but are not limited to:
• Updating and maintaining the initiative’s dedicated website
• Creating and executing social media strategies
• Writing news releases and email outreach messages
• Developing and making presentations that excite and engage community members to participate in the initiative
• Developing print materials and ads
• Developing other collateral materials
• Creating and coordinating special events and /or incorporating the initiative into existing community events
• Working with online analytics
• Work with community leaders to develop support messages around the initiative

Qualifications:
• Excellent writing and public speaking skills (writing sample will be requested for finalists)
• Social media fluency including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Valid drivers license

Hours and Duration:
Beginning early May through mid-September, up to 20 hours per week possibly including some evening and weekend hours.

Salary:
$10/hour

Other:
Gain great experience working in a small, fast-paced nonprofit organization with exposure to many aspects of organizational functioning. Location close to UNL’s City Campus.
