General Manager Flood Broadcasting, Inc. (KBIE-FM/KNCY-AM)

Job Description Flood Broadcasting, Inc., (KBIE-FM/KNCY-AM) located in Nebraska City, Nebraska, announces an opening for the position of General Manager. KBIE-FM/KNCY-AM is a commercial radio station
primarily serving southeast Nebraska, southwest Iowa and northwest Missouri including the communities of Nebraska City, Falls City, Auburn,
Sidney, Tecumseh, Rockport, Shenandoah and Plattsmouth. With a core purpose of
"Connecting Community Through Radio,"KBIE-FM/KNCY-AM provides locally produced programming.

The General Manager is the executive position at the station and supervising a staff of eight.

Specific Duties: The specific duties of the position include the following:
Financial management:
The GM is responsible for leading the entire team with a focus on sales and revenue generation, budgeting, budget tracking, oversight of bookkeeping and audits, maintenance of records, reporting, and financial reporting.
Personnel management:
The GM is responsible for guiding the work of full- and part-time employees, staff hiring, staff training,
evaluations, benefits development, and implementing
established KBIE-FM/KNCY-AM personnel policies.
Staff include:
Traffic Manager/Office Manager, Program Directors, Account Executives, Announcers and News and Content generators.

Sales Expectations: The GM is responsible for assuring that sales goals are met, maintaining relationships with advertisers and community
organizations, client development, and overseeing the work of the station's Account Executives.

Operations Expectations: The GM has overall
responsibility for station programming, local program production, direction of
the station's two news producers, and compliance with FCC regulations. The GM is responsible for assuring maintenance of broadcast equipment, and the maintenance and improvement of the station's facilities which include a studio/office
building and transmitter sites. Operational needs require the GM to develop, implement, and oversee various service contracts. The GM has principal
responsibility for the station's IT infrastructure and maintaining and developing the station's website and other "new media." The GM is responsible for keeping KBIE-FM/KNCY-AM up-to-date with changes and
trends in technology, media, and broadcasting.

Community Outreach: The GM represents the station to the local community and is responsible for assuring KBIE-FM/KNCY-AM is responsive to local community needs and concerns. The GM guides station outreach to members, listeners, and the community at large. The GM
proactively interacts with local businesses, organizations, schools, and government agencies and institutions to articulate KBIE-FM/KNCY-AM's mission, policies, and strategic direction, and to build collaborative relationships with these entities.

General Manager candidates must have the following skills and experience:
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide variety of people and interests, incorporate many interests and opinions into decision-making, and devise successful collaborations; Demonstrated
ability to effectively manage personnel;
Experience/ability to understand and manage a budget and accounting, including relevant software; General
technical skills applicable to working with radio technology and an ability to readily learn and adapt to new systems and technologies; Strong writing, speaking, and public presentation skills necessary to
represent KBIE-FM/KNCY-AM successfully to the community, regulatory agencies, and other collaborators. Other desirable knowledge, skills, and
experience include: Knowledge of FCC regulations; Radio Station management; Sales experience; Radio/audio program production and/or journalism; Radio engineering; Utilization of new media technology for program development and/or
organizational communication and development;
Facility management (oversight of building maintenance, utilities;
contract management); Lived and worked
in a rural setting.
