Director of News Operations, NTV

Primary duties include, but are not limited to, directing/technical directing, operating the audio board, studio cameras, teleprompter, video servers, studio preparation, character generator, computer graphics, video editing, and lighting. Production Manager duties include hiring, scheduling, training and leading the production staff. As Operations Director you will handle the scheduling and planning of special live events such as the Nebraska State Fair, Husker Harvest Days and the Harvest of Harmony Parade. At least two years Directing/Technical Directing experience is required. Management experience strongly preferred.

Experience:
Skills needed include ability to communicate clearly with guests, on-air staff and behind the scenes production staff; and ability to manage commitments to various news programs. The successful candidate will be able to quickly understand their own role within the TV station and how best to fill that role to make the TV station successful. The candidate will also need to learn the TV station's role in the community.

Qualified candidates must be creative, assertive yet personable but above all, have a positive attitude, willing to do what it takes to help the station succeed. Candidates must always maintain a positive image and demeanor when working with the team and especially when dealing with the public.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to catch spelling and grammatical errors on the fly.
Must have the ability to work well in fast paced environment and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to operate a vehicle (must possess or be able to possess a valid NE state driver's license with an excellent driving record).
Strong computer skills are required as well as familiarity with related tools like Skype, smart phones and all MS Office Products.
Must have a strong technical aptitude, able to learn new and sometimes complicated equipment quickly.
Time management and organizational skills are critical.
