Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter, KNOP/KNPL/KIIT-TV North Platte, NE

Duties include: . Write, produce, edit and anchor a total of four sportscasts on weekends, fill in as sports anchor during the week, work with sports department on shooting games and telling unique sports stories. Reports and sharing of content may also be required for other stations in the Nebraska News & Information Network (KOLN/KGIN, KSNB, KNOP/KNPL/KIIT). Operate camera equipment and live TVU technology independently with special focus on quality. Write web stories, post video to web, dedication to posting on social media and interacting with viewers via social media. Contribute to the idea pool from which sports assignments are made. Maintain contacts within the sports community to better cover local sports stores. Perform any other functions relative to the quality of sports presentation assigned by the News Director. Duties also include appearing at promotional functions, operating news equipment in a safe, professional manner and supporting news promotion. These duties apply to all of our media platforms.

Qualifications: College degree in journalism, related field, or equivalent job experience. Ability to operate videography equipment. Knowledge of sports journalism ethics, slander, and libel laws.

Full-time hours are variable. Applicants must be willing to work weekends, early mornings and evenings as required. Applicants are further expected to reside within 30 minutes of the station. Full-time employment includes all currently offered company benefits at time of hire.
