Head of Marketing, Assurity Life

The Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications is responsible for planning, developing and implementing Assurity’s marketing and corporate communications strategies. This position reports to the Senior VP, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
50% Lead activities related to implementation of marketing and corporate communication strategies, which includes:
· creating, inspiring, motivating, developing and leading a team of marketing professionals who collaborate to champion the Assurity brand;
· implementing a comprehensive and creative marketing, communications and public relations program that will enhance Assurity’s brand and position within the marketplace;
· developing actionable strategies and marketing campaigns that support individual and worksite sales to achieve corporate sales targets;
· leading cross-functional teams and meetings; and
· working collaboratively with senior management and sales leaders to build consensus on delivery of objectives.
25% Develop, implement, track and optimize digital marketing, which includes:
· providing leadership for the development, management and maintenance of Assurity’s websites;
· leading the delivery of digital marketing campaigns to various audiences across multiple digital channels; and
· developing and aligning web strategies and social media engagement to build the Assurity brand.
10% Manage communication standards, which includes:
· ensuring compliance with state insurance regulations for all outgoing information; and
· overseeing media interest for Assurity and ensuring regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests.
10% Manage and direct marketing and corporate communications, mail center, printing and supply, which includes:
· aligning department goals and budgets with the strategic plans;
· recruiting, selecting, training and coaching associates;
· planning, monitoring and reviewing job contributions through quarterly scorecard performance evaluations.
participating in professional organizations and activities
related to the insurance industry and the marketing profession in particular; and
· managing vendor relationships impacting marketing and corporate communications.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Eight to ten years of leadership experience in marketing, preferably in the insurance industry.

Proficient in data analysis. Ability to translate data into business decisions that continuously improve business results.

Strong user understanding and demonstrated expertise in web content, usability, development and design.

Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning and marketing, business and market development, market research and planning and promotions/advertising.

Proven ability to lead, influence, work collaboratively, and drive results.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field is required, or equivalent work experience

PHYSICAL AND WORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
May require work in excess of 40 hours a week in order to complete functions of position.
Travel may be required.
