Marketing/Photography Intern, NEBCO

This Intern position is designed to provide practical professional work experience in the corporate marketing environment with numerous field locations throughout Nebraska, by capturing marketing and advertising photographs and specializing in the design, standardization, development and production of print and electronic communications by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
Capture marketing and advertising photographs. Assist by organizing photo database in an efficient manner.
Create original graphics for print, website and social media usage. Assist department with creation of social media content.
Work with marketing department to ensure images are captured for ad and marketing campaigns. Assist by uploading and keywording images on a regular basis.
Produce and execute photo-related projects for print and web.
Assist in the development and maintenance of a cohesive identity conforming to Company branding standards.
Develop, organize, market, implement, and/or evaluate a specific project or program which may be determined by the Marketing Manager.
Projects will include, but not limited to:
Architectural photography of completed residential and commercial construction projects containing product supplied by NEBCO Companies.
Product photography for online and print catalogs.
Event photography, including golf tournaments at Quarry Oaks Golf Course, Saltdogs baseball games at Haymarket Park, seminars, conventions and corporate events.
Design graphics to be used across multiple social media channels for NEBCO companies.
Update company websites utilizing a Content Management System.
Assist with the Products Catalog which would include gathering photos and editing them to the correct format.
Other duties may be assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
Working on a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Arts or Design, or related field. Must be at least a full or part-time Junior in good academic standing. Preferably applicant will have successfully completed Marketing, Promotions or related courses or equivalent required.

Language Skills:
Must have exceptional ability to write and develop corporate marketing materials that meet the needs of the organization by providing clear and consistent style and format. Ability to effectively present information to employee/public groups/customers. Ability to speak and communicate with employees and other business contacts in a courteous and professional manner. Must have excellent spelling, grammar, writing and proofreading skills.

Mathematical Skills:
Normal math skills.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several variables.

Computer Skills:
Must have excellent expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Acrobat Professional, InDesign, and Photoshop) and Microsoft Office programs. Must have good skills in operating a personal computer and various software packages. Some experience in website updates using a Content Management System is desirable.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company insurance plan.

Other Skills and Abilities:
Must have expertise in operating a camera as well as a critical eye for detail in photography. Must be able to communicate a consistent message across company lines. Must be able to make creative suggestions to meet changing demands of the operations. Ability to work independently and make proper decisions. Ability to maintain highly confidential information. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines. Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule.

Other Qualifications:
General Marketing and Promotions skills are highly desirable. Must have excellent project management skills with good follow-up skills needed to oversee consistent program development. Must have excellent attention to detail. Creative skills are a must. Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. The multi locations of the company businesses may require the employee to operate outside the confines of the office environment. This is a non-smoking campus.

Condition of Employment:
Candidate is required to meet the above qualifications, task frequency and PPE requirements. Approval of pre- employment reference & background checks, and post offer drug/alcohol testing with back screens (if required) are required as conditions of employment. This also applies to all transfers, fit-for-duty and return to work programs.
