Projects & Responsibilities:
• Interview faculty inventors and compose features for our website
• Report on exciting research developments around campus
• Compose non-technical summaries of new UNL inventions and innovations
• Create accurate, relevant and timely news for online audiences with emphasis on visual and audio presentation
• Story idea generation, fact gathering, writing, reporting, video recording & editing, objectivity, interviewing, story/topic research

Qualifications:
We know it’s challenging to translate difficult scientific concepts into communication pieces that the business world can understand. Do you have this talent? We are looking for a multi-talented individual who’s creative, curious, and motivated to learn about new fields. He or she should have exceptional reporting, writing, online and multimedia skills. Experience with basic video editing software and shooting footage as well as logging, capturing and encoding video content is required. The ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently is essential. Coursework in science is preferred but not required.

NUtech Ventures is a nonprofit affiliate of the University of Nebraska that’s committed to doing things differently. We strive to move valuable university research to the marketplace. This can involve patenting and licensing of technologies as well as collaborative partnerships with industry. Our portfolio is diverse, ranging from agriculture to nanotech. We have the exciting privilege to see cutting edge research on a daily basis and be a part of translating it to the real world.
