My Sunday column is devoted to my annual humanitarian holiday guide, but it also notes that I’m now accepting entries for Win-a-Trip 2012. In the past, I’ve occasionally taken more than one person (such as a member of the over-60 crowd last year), but this year it’ll be just a university student. So here’s how to enter the contest.

AND....
New Year's greetings from the Institute for Humane Studies! With 2012 underway and the application deadline around the corner, please take a moment to remind your students to apply to our paid public policy internships.

Participants spend a rewarding summer completing internships with more than 80 think tanks and policy organizations across the country, learning about the principles and practices essential to policy making, and critically analyzing current events and policies.

The program includes instructive seminars, resume workshops, mentoring, and networking opportunities to prepare Fellows to succeed in the competitive job market. Undergraduates, recent graduates, and graduate students are eligible.
