IANR News Service, based on the UNL east campus, wishes to hire a student writer who will be able to gain experience in interviewing, reporting and writing a variety of stories for the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The IANR News team writes and distributes stories to newspapers, radio, TV, magazines and websites across Nebraska, the region and the nation. The student writer also may write copy for the IANR website and new IANR publication. The student writer also may use social media to distribute that information.
experience required:
Experienced in writing news stories (print journalism classes count as experience);
completion of at least one news writing and reporting class or equivalent newspaper experience;
at least sophomore standing. Juniors and seniors who apply for this position will receive preference.
additional information:
Interest in, or knowledge of agriculture, natural resources or science is desirable but not required.
