This internship will provide a student with real-world experiences in video and audio production. The student will assist in the development and production of the Market Journal and Backyard Farmer television programs, as well as with the Ag Almanac radio program. Through these award-winning agricultural and horticultural programs, UNL and the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) are able to serve the citizens of Nebraska and beyond through television, radio and online delivery.

The intern will receive practical experiences through hands-on activities, including: script writing, audio/video eediting and production, content development, social media outreach and preparing features for broadcast and web delivery. The intern will record interviews for the weekly Ag Almanac; edit segments for broadcast; attend weekly Market Journal planning meetings; write, shoot and edit video packages for Market Journal; assist with online delivery of program; for Backyard Farmer, the intern will coordinate, shoot and edit packages for weekly broadcast; prepare and upload video segments to social media sites; assist with weekly live productions at NET; regularly attend planning sessions. May also serve as producer or crew member for video projects.

experience required:
Must be at least a college sophomore;
knowledge of broadcast writing style;
social media experience in promotion and marketing;
knowledge and experience with video shooting and productiion;
demonstrated experience with video equipment and editing software (FinalCut Pro, Adobe Audition).
Must be able to take initiative and meet deadlines.
May be expected to work evenings and weekends and must have a flexible schedule.

additional requirements:
Major in agricultural journalism with a broadcast emphasis.
Strong interest in agriculture and agriculture-related fields.
