FARM & ACREAGE — Public meeting about accessory dwellings in ag areas, July 25

The County Planning Department is considering adopting zoning regulations for Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) in the agricultural areas of Lancaster County. An accessory dwelling is a self-contained dwelling unit on the same lot as a single-family dwelling.

A public informational meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 5–6:30 p.m. at Charles H. Gere Library, 2400 S. 56th St, Lincoln. The public meeting will provide background on the use and purpose of ADUs and present the proposed zoning conditions developed by the County Planning Department in cooperation with a local work group. Staff and members of the work group will be present to answer questions and hear suggestions from the public.

Extension Educator Meghan Sittler is part of the work group contributing information about private well and wastewater options.
