Volunteers are needed to give back to the local, Lincoln community in an awesome and tangible way on Constitution Day this year! Constitution Day is September 17th, and this year all law students are invited and encouraged to sign up to volunteer for the College of Law's Constitution Day project in partnership with Lincoln Public Schools.
Over the summer a Constitution Day curriculum for 8th grade students was created by fellow law students. The curriculum takes 8th graders through an interactive hypothetical that challenges the students to reflect on questions about the relationship between state and federal government and individual rights.
Those who volunteer will be sent to various Lincoln public schools where pairs of two will teach during the 8th grade social studies classes. In addition, volunteers will be required to attend a brief training session on Tuesday, September 10th. Two different sessions will be provided to accommodate schedules. More information will be sent to those who sign up to volunteer. You can sign up to volunteer in ROSCOE.
This is a great opportunity to be a part of the local community and represent Nebraska Law in a positive way. The LPS teachers and students are genuinely excited for this event -- almost as excited as we are! If you have any questions, feel free to contact Hannah Putz at hannaheputz@gmail.com.
