Education Abroad Scholarship Opportunities

Have you thought about an education abroad experience but decided to rule it out due to the cost? There are many scholarship opportunities available specifically for education abroad programs. The Education Abroad Office has two big scholarship applications that are available:

• MAPS (Multi-Award, Program-Specific) Scholarship Application: This “common application” allows you to apply for several awards at one time. You should have well-defined goals and plans for your education abroad experience.

• Early Abroad Scholarship Application: This award is for freshmen, sophomores, and transfer students planning to study abroad during their first two years at UNL. Because you are allowed to apply early and defer this award, you can go abroad in a variety of terms.

These two scholarship applications have the following deadlines:

Term Abroad* & Application Deadline
Winter Break, Spring, Spring Break is October 1
Summer is January 5
Fall or Academic Year is March 1**
*MAPS is term-specific, but Early Abroad is not.
**No Early Abroad deadline in March.
