Math Contest in Modeling

Do you want to be part of the 2020 UNL team for the Math Contest in Modeling?

The international Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) is a contest where teams of undergraduates use mathematics present their solutions to real world problems. See https://www.comap.com/undergraduate/contests/mcm/ for more information.

The next MCM will take place February 13-17, 2020, and we are looking for students who wish to be part of UNL's team for this contest. Last year, a team composed of three UNL undergraduates placed in the top 7% out of 14,108 participating teams from around the world. Do you want to follow in their footsteps? Please email Prof. Alexandra Seceleanu (aseceleanu@unl.edu) to signal your interest.

We will organize some training sessions for interested students at the beginning of the spring semester.

Math Club Event Survey

The faculty and staff in the Math Department want to know what kinds of events you want to see from the Math Club during the spring semester. We will have the course preview for the Fall 2020 semester and the Career Perspectives in Mathematics Lecture, but we want to know what other kinds of events you want to see.

Click the link to below be directed to a survey where you can give us your ideas for events and for potential event times. You can also give us your contact information if you want to help us plan and organize Math Club events during the Spring 2020 semester.
