APHL-CDC Public Health Laboratory Fellowships
The Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are recruiting bachelor’s-, master’s- and postdoc-level fellows interested in careers in public health laboratory science. Public health laboratories are highly specialized public-sector laboratories that monitor and detect a range of health threats, such as genetic disorders in newborns, infectious diseases, environmental hazards and biological terrorist agents and more. These experiential fellowships are open to bachelors-, master’s- and postdoctoral-level scientists. Fellows work collaboratively with industry leaders on unique projects, are trained in public health laboratory core competencies, and develop professional networks.
Program currently accepting applications (through October 2021) for January 2022 start dates include: bioinformatics, environmental health, infectious diseases, and newborn screening. These and other programs will begin accepting applications in November 2021 (through February 2022) for July 2022 start dates.
Fellowships are full-time, paid, and run one to two years.
